This is the very first I've heard of this incident and I was a shareholder for almost 30 years until last year with this institution. I was shocked and sick to receive it and am tonight on the internet trying to learn more. The first thing I noticed was the date "in late February 2008"--and they are notifying me at least 7 months after this incident. And they used the term lost--please! I called and got a recording and will certainly call again, though I see others have gotten no more than scripted answers. I am going to contact my state's Attorney General. Not encrypted! Notification 7 months later! Unacceptable! I live in CA and JUST received a letter from BNY Mellon today, 10-1-08–dated September 15,2008!
